Amazing software configurable to accommodate your specific vision impairment. It is operated by pressing four large buttons on a trackball mouse. The easy and intuitive interface quickly enables you to be reading and hearing books with less effort and more efficiency than you could have imagined.
ezVIP scans and automatically converts text into type fonts, letter sizes, letter spacing, text and background colors that best suit your low vision needs.
Reading views include:
Hear the text spoken in any of nine different voices. The speech may be turned off at will and is not available in the Marquee or Image Views.
Magnify images, including handwriting, which can then be captured into an album for future viewing.
View live images from a video camera to function as a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV). This feature is ideal to monitor handwriting as you sign checks or complete hard-to-see forms. The camera also magnifies labels on three dimensional objects like prescription bottles or kitchen ingredients.
VIP relieves you from outdated magnifying devices, repetitive physical strain, reliance on others, and frustratingly slow reading. This software offers the basic advantages of ezVIP and adds these features:
Read Books on CD, an electronic library of over 600 books that have been stored and indexed on a single CD. (This is included free in VIP LIBRETTE.)
Scanning as many pages as desired before viewing allows you to read them later at your convenience. Pages can always be bookmarked for easy retrieval.
Templates customize scanned areas on a page. For example, only magnify current transaction or billing summaries and then disregard the recurrent text on your monthly bills.
Create, send, save, and receive E-mail on the Internet.
Edit memos with the talking keyboard. Three speech modes facilitate document creation: normal reading, proofreading, and spelling. Cutting and pasting to/from the Windows Clipboard is supported for use in other applications.
Auto dial phone numbers stored for all your friends in the talking address book.
This talking web browser optimizes visual displays for people with low vision. Those with total vision loss will also benefit from the browser's extensive voice prompting. The speech may also be turned on/off at will.
Command menus that also describe key shortcuts help you operate the system. An interactive learning mode which announces what keys do when you press them helps you learn the system. A function key also summons a narrative help file.
As with other browsers, you can bookmark, chronicle the history of your surfing session, and find specific words and their next or previous occurrences.
The same viewing formats used in ezVIP and VIP, namely Word Wrap, Marquee, and RSVP are also used to customize the web's visual display.
Gathering information is expedited, because the VIP Browser initially displays only text and links. It also highlights and announces the links or gives you the option to list all the links on a page or only those you specify. All the other web elements are represented as icons, for instance allowing you to download and magnify images on demand.
Tables are also formatted in a streamlined manner, useful for viewing stock quotes or databases.
All the well known search engines are preprogrammed for direct access.
