PnC E-Mail
PnC E-Mail is software for sending and receiving e-mail with POP3 e-mail service providers (e.g., earthlink.net, attbi.com, qwest.net, comcast.net, etc.). It is designed to make e-mail sending and receiving easy for people with low vision. Speech synthesis and enlargement controls are built into the program.
PnC E-Mail uses the same "Pick `n Click" user interface as our other low vision products: PnC Net (an Internet browser) and PnC Memo (a word processor). PnC Memo is included with PnC E-Mail and serves as the word processor for e-mail messages.
Key features of PnC E-Mail are:
¨ Text is enlarged and spoken as desired
¨ Screens are designed to minimize text and buttons from being off the screen under enlargement
¨ Operation is aided by many verbal prompts
¨ Receives both html and txt format e-mails
¨ Sends and receives attachments
¨ A spelling checker is included
E-mails can be written by starting from either PnC E-Mail or PnC Memo. When starting from PnC E-Mail, simply select "Compose Mail" from the menu and start typing the message. To send the message, select "Send Mail" from the PnC Memo Home menu and fill in the address and subject lines. An attachment can be added if desired, then send the message.
To receive e-mail simply click on the menu item "Update Inbox". Then a list of the subjects of messages on the mail server will be displayed. Unwanted messages can then be deleted without downloading.
